students in rochester could be part of a nationá wide study on mindfulness training for youth. the rochester public school board is being presented with info on this program at it's meeting tonight. kimt news three's annalisa pardo joins us live to tell us more about this study and why community members say it could be a good thing for area students. tonight á here at the edison building, rochester public school board will decide whether they want the district to participate in a study where students and staff would complete what's called a "mindful training course". the goal of the study, which is implemented by a university in california, is to help students become more present, and not as distracted during school activities... all to improve academic performance. it's said to also help students manage stress, which can also have long term benefits. courtney lawson works with the national alliance on mental illness in rochester and has had her own experience
