bring him election with midáterms just 26 days away, candidates for all different positions are turning out to show the communtiy where they stand on different topics. tonight at 1á25 live city council candidates for wards 1, 3, and 5 shared their platforms. there was also a forum for all school board candidates. ward 1 candidates heather holmes and patrick keane were in the hot seat and asked several questions that came from 'in the city for good' which is a local group made of community members. one of the questions... 'how would you apply tax increment funding or (tif "tif is not enough to go through to make affordable housing and tif implies affordable housing is going to be new housing and i actually lean much more towards the side of affordable housing being renovation." "what kind of a cap would we put on the property and that it would have to be purchased so people come in and invest they don't rent they own and this becomes a community not a market rate or an affordable housing place and this becomes a neighborhood where they're vested and they stick around." and happening right up stairs at the same time... the school board forum where all candidates for 2 á 4 and 6 were in the hot seat. candidates were asked about the role the school board would play in the new arrangement between rochester public transit and the school system... which has students riding public transit to and "i'm not sure what the basis of the concern would be with the older folks on the bus seeing younger kids being on the bus, it hasn't been so long ago that that's just a common thing everybody's riding the bus." "the school board shouldn't have to make all of these decisions without thorough study and input from all of the people this is going to affect." you can cast your vote on any of these candidates
