county is honoring those who put their lives on the line for us. today the traveling vietnam war wall made its way to austin before memorial services take place this weekend. in the studio kimt news 3's brooke mckivergan spent her day in austin with a few of the vets participating in the festivities. she's joins us live from our rochester studio now.. now brooke? traveling vietnam wall-lintro-2 katie soon these 30 poles will each have a flag raised on them to remember 30 lives that were lost in the vietnam war. and the most special part of this-all 30 who are being remembered are from mower traveling vietnam wall-mpkg-1 traveling vietnam wall-mpkg-4 arnold earl is from austin... and risked his life fighting in the vietnam war. he was in the infantry and was just getting ready to head home to his wife - when the unthinkable happened... traveling vietnam wall-mpkg-2 "well i was over there i had 2 weeks to go to come home from vietnam but then i got shot in the head on december 3rd. but that's part of life. traveling vietnam wall-mpkg-5 his good friend ron hanson was a combat engineer in the war as well... and says to see the community coming together and celebrating them means the world. traveling vietnam wall-mpkg-3 "when we first came back from vietnam of course we were shunned upon and people spit on our shoes to me i think with the wall coming in and the community pulling together like they have, it means a lot to a vietnam vet." traveling vietnam wall-ltag-2 arnold and ron both agree it feels amazing to have the community behind them. live in the rochester studio brooke mckivergan kimt news 3. / traveling vietnam wall-grx-2 there is a packed schedule of events this weekend... so anyone can come and honor veterans at the tribute. tomorrow... there will be opening remarks and an opening prayer. friday ... they will read the names of those killed in action. saturday - the tribute will be open to the public with no formal ceremonies. and sunday... there will be a 21-gun salute. / do you know what kind of digital citizen you
