Title: Weekend sports anchor

Zach Gilleland started as Weekend Sports Anchor in September 2018.
Zach graduated cum laude from Salisbury University in 2018 with a degree in Communications with a focus in Journalism and Public Relations. During his time at Salisbury, he was a sports reporter for the SU Flyer, SU’s campus newspaper for two years and served on their editorial board in his last semester. Zach was also a broadcaster for the Sea Gull Sports Network for three seasons. During his time there he broadcasted nearly every sport, including working play-by-play for women’s soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
Zach interned at WMDT in Salisbury, where he got his first taste in TV production.
Growing up in Southern Maryland, Zach got to experience his love for sports at a young age, going to countless DC and Baltimore sporting events.
Zach is a diehard Washington Nationals, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Wizards and Maryland Terrapins fan. Being a Twin as well, he thinks he will fit well in the Minnesota sports scene.
Although East Coast born and bred, Zach is happy to call Rochester home. Have a story idea? Email Zach at
