Des Moines PD: Missing Winnebago County man has been found

UPDATE: The Des Moines Police Department says Tom Bartleson has been found in Cedar Rapids and is being reunited with his family.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Iowa - A man reported missing from Winnebago County early Monday could be in central Iowa, authorities said Monday afternoon.

The missing man is Tom Bartleson, 81, who was last seen wearing an olive grey-colored winter coat with the words "Spec Mix" on it and an Iowa Hawkeyes baseball hat.

“Please be on the lookout for a Maroon 2015 Dodge 3/4 ton long box diesel truck with big yellow lights on top. Left rural Lake Mills area around 2:30am this morning, unknown direction of travel. Only had 1/2 tank of gas, no cell phone and no meds with him. If you see this vehicle please call dispatch at 641-585-2828 opt 0 or 911,” Winnebago County emergency management said.

Des Moines police said Monday afternoon that he may be in central Iowa. According to police, he was last seen wearing an olive grey-colored winter coat with the words "Spec Mix" on it and an Iowa Hawkeyes baseball hat.
