...Strong And Gusty Northwest Winds This Morning... .As of sunrise, strong and gusty west to northwest winds had spread across areas west of the Mississippi River and were spreading into southwest Wisconsin. Wind speeds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 40 mph were occurring across the higher terrain, open country areas of southeast Minnesota into northeast Iowa. These winds will continue through the morning into the early afternoon hours. Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 will be common. The higher terrain and ridge top areas will experience the strongest winds. Light weight yard items, holiday decorations and trash cans may be blown around by these winds. ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
