ALGONA, Iowa – Kossuth County Emergency Management is warning drivers about possibly flooded roads.
Rising water levels are threatening to force the closure of four roads. They are:
240th Street, Including the Plum Creek Dam and Pits.
North Park Drive in Algona.
Highway 169 near St. Joeseph.
Highway 18 in the area of Bomgaars and Jack’s OK Tire Service.
Residents are being reminded to avoid contact with flood waters as much as possible, be aware that refrigerated food can go bad in just two hours if the power goes out, and use only bottled, boiled, or treated water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene in flooded areas.
