MASON CITY, Iowa – An incident that left a woman with minor injuries after being dragged by a vehicle Wednesday night was the result of transaction involving electronics gone awry.
Mason City Police said at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of N. Jefferson, the victim was injured after she had agreed to sell some small electronic items to a known subject.
The subject met her in the street and the victim allegedly gave the person the electronics valued at $40.
However, the subject allegedly drove off before paying and the victim tried to hang on to the truck as long as possible.
Police said the victim either fell off or was allegedly repelled by the driver and fell off.
The victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa before being released. The victim suffered abrasions to her feet, knees, hands and face.
The case remains under investigation.
