Two-vehicle accident in Olmsted County sends one child to hospital

The 10-year-old girl is expected to be OK.

OLMSTED COUNTY, Minn. - A two-car accident on Highway 52 sends one child to the hospital on Sunday.

Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Highway 52 near 65th Avenue SE in Marion Township.

Makayla Phillips-Tucke, 19 of Dodge Center, was driving southbound in a 2006 Chrysler Town &  Country. She had two female child passengers, ages 8 and 10, as well as 29-year-old Damiana Huber in the vehicle.

When she went to to make a U-turn, she was hit by a Ford pick-up which was driven by 21-year-old Hank Fiederichs of Rochester.

Authorities tell KIMT the only person transported was the 10-year-old girl. She was taken to St. Mary's Hopsital in Rochester, and is expected to be OK.
