Two charged with burglary in Charles City

CHARLES CITY, Iowa – Police responding to a report of damaged apartment doors wind up arresting two men for 1st degree burglary.

John Paul Miller, 37 of New Hampton, and Brandyn Michael Steveson, 25 of Charles City, were caught around 9 pm Monday after Charles City police were called to the 200 block of 5th Avenue. Officers say Miller, armed with a large knife, entered two apartments without permission and then Miller and Steveson hid in one of the apartments until police arrived and ordered them out.

According to court documents, Miller and Steveson did several hundred dollars in damage to the apartment doors.
