ROCHESTER, Minn. – One man was Tased after resisting arrest and lying to police while a woman was also arrested after a traffic stop turned up drugs Tuesday night.
Police said at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of 1st Ave. SE., an officer recognized a female driver who did not have a license.
When the vehicle was stopped, Joshua Carlson, 30, gave officers a fake name before he resisted arrest and was Tased. The driver, Misty Wenthold, 20, was also arrested after police found methamphetamine and hypodermic needles. Mail, credit cards and checks not belonging to them were also found.
Carlson is facing charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing the legal process and resisting arrest.
Wenthold is facing charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving after revocation.
