Third not guilty plea in Cresco drug bust

CRESCO, Iowa – A third defendant is pleading not guilty in a Howard County drug bust.

Cresco police say an investigation led them to search 411 North Elm Street, Apartment 1 on December 8, 2017. Officers say they found methamphetamine, marijuana, and the prescription drug Alprazolam.

Charges of gathering where drugs are used, maintaining premises for drug use, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs were filed against the three people who lived at the apartment: Lisa Rae Ragon, Steven Lane Geerts, and Peggy Sue Schneider.

Ragon and Geerts previously pleaded not guilty and Schneider joined them on Monday. Geerts and Schneider are due to stand trial on July 18 while Ragon’s trial is scheduled for August 8.
