ROCHESTER, Minn. - Despite Thanksgiving day being the leading day for home cooking fires, that wasn't the case in our area.
Both the Mason City Fire Department and Rochester Fire Department say they didn't respond to any home cooking fires.
Kasson Fire and Rescue also reports a quieter day.
RFD said they did respond to one smoke removal. Smoke came from a dirty burner on a stove top.
The department also discovered low levels of carbon monoxoide in a home as a result of having a gas stove operating for hours.
RFD said they are glad citizens were safe and able to spend time with their families without serious interruptions.
