ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Salvation Army Red Kettles are back in “full ring.”
The Salvation Army needs your help, not only to donate money but to ring the bells.
Jim Golden has volunteered for the Salvation Army for over 40 years and loves meeting people through ringing the “Red Kettle” bells.
“We'll leave here today with just a great, a great feeling,” Golden said. “so yeah it really makes us our day. It really does.”
Organizers say the Rochester Salvation Army has a goal of raising $1.1 million and all the donations will be back into programs like the food bank, housing, and disaster relief.
“So much is given back to people in need,” Golden Said. “I mean it's almost 100-percent, especially locally here in Rochester.”
“I feel it's a worthwhile thing to do and I think the Salvation Army is a great organization that does a lot of good for the community and for the country,” Carol Jones, a volunteer bell ringer said.
You can donate to the Salvation Army Red Kettles up until December 24 or sign up to be a bell ringer on their website.
