HIBBING, Minn. – A $25,000 reward has been offered for information about the murder of a northern Minnesota man.

Brian Joseph Nelson, 60, was found stabbed to death in his Hibbing home on July 10, 2017. According to Spotlight on Crime, the organization offering the reward, Nelson was the owner/operator of “The Bottle Shop” liquor store, which is located in front of his home. Nelson was reportedly known to take his daily proceeds home on Saturdays and make bank deposits on Monday.

He was last seen alive at 10:30 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2017. That was the final day of the 2017 Hibbing Jubilee Community Festival.

A store employee went to check on Nelson on Monday morning when he didn’t show up at the liquor store and found Nelson dead in his home.

Spotlight on Crime says no arrest has been made yet for Nelson’s murder and anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the Hibbing Police Department at 218-263-3601 or pdesk@ci.hibbing.mn.us. Information can be provided anonymously.
