Police investigate shots fired in Austin

10 bullet casings found at the scene.

AUSTIN, Minn. – Police are investigating a report of shots fired overnight.

The Austin Police Department says it got a call around 2:10 am Thursday about gunfire in the 900 block of 6th Avenue SE. Officers say they found 10 .40 caliber bullet casings at the scene.

Police say they do not know the source of the shooting or why it happened at this time.
