AUSTIN, Minn. - SPAM Post 570 is Minnesota's only all female American Legion Post.

Originally started by Jay Hormel in 1946, the group was reactived in May 2017.

And they want to do more for the community.

"We have donated to toys for tots, and the DAV, the Disabled American Veterans, but we also want to get involved in other things like scholarships or sports programs," Eileen Chao, Adjutant of SPAM Post 570, said.

Having more members will help the organization give back not only to veterans, but also to other parts of the community.

"SPAM Post 570 is alive and well and we are inviting women veterans to come join us. That will also give us a little more felxability in what we want to do," Chao said.

They are currently hosting Operation Holiday Wrap Up.

The group will be at Shopko in Austin, ready to wrap presents for the holiday season.

They are accepting free will donations for the wrapping services.

Here are Operation Holiday Wrap Up dates:

Sunday, Nov. 26 from 1-4pm
Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 4-6pm
Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9am-1pm
Thursday, Dec. 21 from 4-6pm
