ROCHESTER, Minn. – Police say they’ve made a significant arrest and disruption of the Rochester drug trade.
Terrance Burkhalter, 43, has been booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center pending charges of 1st degree drug sales and prohibited person with a firearm. He was arrested after two homes were searched Thursday around 2:30 pm. Police say nothing was found was a residence in the 2300 block of Marion Road but a search of 531 36th Street SW found 19.25 pounds of marijuana, over a pound of cocaine, nearly two ounces of heroin, more than 400 oxycodone pills, 10 grams of marijuana wax, a loaded handgun, and an undetermined amount of cash.
It is believed these drugs came from California as part of a larger distribution ring.
Rochester police say Burkhalter’s arrest is the result of an extended investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Unit and he is described as someone with a lengthy criminal history in Rochester and Olmsted County.
Police say this investigation is continuing and additional arrested are expected.
