ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Olmsted Medical Center is saying thank you to dozens of their volunteers at their annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
Lois Olson is just one of them and even received a pin for volunteering over 9,000 hours.
She manages the gift shop, which is just one of many opportunities offered for volunteers.
"I had a friend that was volunteering in the gift shop and she used to talk about how much fun she had working in it," Olson said, "so I asked her how I could do that and that's how I started and been here ever since."
She's been coming in every week for nearly 30 years and said she enjoys the people.
"I just feel sometimes that I'm able to help them," Olson said, "but I feel that I get a lot more out of it than what I give."
