ROCHESTER, Minn.-If you go above and beyond to clean your community Olmsted County and Rochester Public Utilities are looking to recognize you.
The County said its environmental achievement award is for people, local organizations or businesses that are putting in an effort to protect the environment.
That isn’t just recycling, it includes activities like picking up trash or simply educating people about the importance of sustainability.
Anthony Wittmer is the coordinator at the county's environmental department.
He tells KIMT the people who are putting in the extra effort deserve to be recognized.
“They're doing this work out of the goodness of their heart and to make our community a better place to be you can nominate someone you know,” Wittmer said.

The deadline for nominations is October 5th.
