OSAGE, Iowa - Each month, KIMT News 3 and our Giving Your Best Partners, Diamond Jo Casino and First Citizens Bank, recognize someone who goes above and beyond to give back to their community.

Our November Volunteers of the Month are Allyn and Carol Milton, of Osage.

The Miltons have volunteered their time at many local organizations, including the Cedar River Complex, their church and the Shop on State. Until it recently closed, the Shop on State was a thrift store where the proceeds funded grants for local non-profits.

"Just about anything that has to be done, we try to do it. Repair work, or whatever," Allyn said.

"They are just so dedicated and they are so reliable. And they here every day we are open," said Christine Fannin, manager of Shop on State.

"They're deserving. And they never ask for anything in return. And they're fun, they're fun to be around," Fannin said.

"Everybody's been good to us over the years and I think it's time to pay back," Allyn said.

"We just enjoy doing it. It makes you feel good to help others," said Carol.
