ALGONA, Iowa – A Kossuth County man is pleading not guilty to 1st degree murder.
Chad David Dietrick, 45 of Lakota, is accused of fatally stabbing Krista Hesebeck between midnight and 1 am on March 3. Court documents describe Hesebeck as Dietrick’s live-in girlfriend. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says it got a report of a domestic dispute at Dietrick’s home in the 200 block of 2nd Street in Lakota but found him at his parents’ home in the 500 block of Smith Street. Deputies say Dietrick had cuts to his left arm.
The criminal complaint says Dietrick’s told deputies he stabbed Hesebeck and her body was found at his home shortly thereafter, stabbed multiple times in the upper body.
Dietrick entered a not guilty plea on Friday and demanded a speedy trial, but a trial date has not yet been set.
