MASON CITY, Iowa – The Iowa high school football playoffs get underway Friday night and many local teams conducted their final walk-throughs Thursday evening.
One of those squads was the Newman Catholic Knights.
They enter Friday’s contest with a 6-2 record. Even better, they have yet to lose a game on their own turf and the players are calling for all fans available to be at the game.
While Evan Paulus says the home-field advantage will be beneficial, they still have to show up and take care of business.
“Our defense is always going to go,” said Paulus. “The key is just getting some stops on defense giving our offense a chance to do what it does best and score some touchdowns.
Newman (6-2) will play host to North Tama (8-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM on Oct. 26.
