BUFFALO CENTER, Iowa – North Iowa Community School has named its new superintendent.

Joe Erickson will start his new job on July 1. Erickson is currently elementary principal at the Eagle Grove Community School District. He is replacing Cory Myer, who is resigning to become superintendent at Sheldon Community Schools in northwest Iowa.

The search for a new superintendent began in March and 28 applications were accepted. The school district says after the School Board interviewed the top candidates on April 30 and May 2, Erickson was unanimously chosen for the job.
