ROCHESTER, Minn. – The next step in the reconstruction of 18th Avenue is set to being Saturday.
Rochester Public Works says the intersection with 41st Street NW will reopen while 18th Avenue NW will close from the 48th Street NW Roundabout to the south entrance of the Rochester Assembly Church. This closure is to allow the replacement of underground utilities.
18th Avenue NW will remain shut down from 37th Street NW to 41st Street NW. A posted detour will be in place.
This project is expected to conclude by November 13. The goal is to reconstruct 18th Avenue NW to improve the function and safety of the roadway for pedestrians, bicycles, transit and vehicles while better serving the surrounding urbanizing land uses.
