NEW HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Minn. – The driver is flown from the scene after crashing into a tree Friday morning in rural Olmsted County.
The Pine Island Fire Department says it was called to the 7900 block of 7th Street NW in New Haven Township at around 10:30 am Friday. Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle standing on end against a tree. Crews had to stabilize the vehicle before getting to the driver, who was unresponsive.
The driver was removed from the vehicle through the windshield and loaded into an ambulance before being transferred to the North Memorial Air Ambulance.
The Pine Island Fire Department says the vehicle went off the road and flipped several times before winding up in a group of trees. Airbags were deployed and the driver was wearing a seat belt.
The cause of this crash is under investigation.
The Rochester Police Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted at the scene.
