MASON CITY, Iowa – A man accused of giving his infant daughter a serious brain injury has been found guilty.
Jeremy Walter Rose, 28, of Mason City, was charged in June 2017 with child endangerment resulting in serious injury. Authorities say Rose violently shook his baby girl and failed to get her proper medical attention. Officers and medics were called to Rose’s home on June 22, 2017, on a report of a baby who was unresponsive and had difficulty breathing.

Doctors at Mayo Clinic advised authorities the infant’s injuries indicated abuse and court documents say a cigarette burn was found on the baby girl.
A jury returned a guilty verdict Monday, convicting rose of a class “C” forcible felony. That level of crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
