Mason City, Iowa – A man is accused of obstructing the breathing abilities of a woman after police say he covered the nose and mouth of the victim.
Abel Olmedo, 26, of Mason City, has been charged with felony domestic abuse assault while impeding air/blood flow after an incident early Tuesday morning.
Police say it happened in the 1600 block of S. Hampshire Ave.
Olmedo did cause bodily injury by scratching were on the nose and leaving an abrasion at the base of the victim’s neck, according to court documents.
He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $5,000 bond.
