MASON CITY, Iowa - The Mason City Salvation Army's 'Fill the Truck' event was held Saturday.

They told KIMT they still need a lot more donations than what they received today. Although this is the first year of the drive, last year they were able to help 480 kids get the supplies the needed. If you're looking to donate you can give cash or check. Otherwise, some of the school supplies in demand are wide-ruled notebooks, loose leaf paper, pencil boxes, and colored pencils. Donations can be dropped off thru this Wednesday. On Thursday, from 9a.m.-3p.m. donations will be given out to children in need.
