ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man accused of stealing items from a Rochester police car is facing more charges after allegedly threatening a business with a knife while wearing a bulletproof vest he stole from police.
Souleysi Singharath is being held in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center after allegedly threatening the Smoke Shop on Elton Hill Dr. late Wednesday afternoon. He was taken into custody at gunpoint.
After being taken into custody, police executed a search warrant at his home on Conway Court where a number of items were recovered that were stolen from a cop car while it was being repaired.
Singharath is facing felony charges of terroristic threats and wearing a bulletproof vest while carrying out a crime.
He was also arrested earlier this year for alleged robberies.
