Pine Island cafe robbed: 'Not a good way to start a Monday'

Employees discovered a shattered window and money missing on Monday.

PINE ISLAND, Minn.- Authorities are piecing together what happened to a local café in Pine Island.
Shawna’s Café was burglarized early Monday morning.
The owner, Shawna Kranz, tells KIMT she came in to find that her window on the floor and glass everywhere.
Goodhue County Sheriff’s department tell KIMT that over $700 was stolen.
“It’s not a good way to start a Monday,” said Kranz.
Authorities tell KIMT they have a lead and are investigating.
For Kranz, the money wasn’t just for her business it was also going back into the employees at the Café.
“We were saving for a Christmas party that we were going to use it for,” She said.
Now Kranz is picking up the pieces and starting over.
“I would like to see justice, I would like to see them, you know, punished. More than just a slap on the wrist.”
