FOREST CITY, Iowa - Organizations and non-profits all across the United States were receiving donations Tuseday in honor of Giving Tuesday.

For the past two years, the Forest City Education Foundation has participated in Giving Tuesday by receiving donations.

The goal is to provide scholarships and educational resources to high school students.

This year, two generous donors were willing to match their goal of $2,500, but the executive director of the foundation is asking for the public to also lend a hand.

"We all know that college is so expensive and that price just keeps increasing each year, so we do need programs, we need grants, we need scholarships for our students,” says Jessica Bruckoff.

Last year, the education foundation raised more than $2,400

So far this year, they have raised more than $1,800. If you would like to make a donation you may visit www.forestcityeducationfoundation.org
