Kitchen fire leads to evacuation in Rochester

Flames were contained to the oven.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – An oven fire led to the evacuation Friday of an apartment complex.

The Rochester Fire Department says it happened at 1430 4th Avenue SE. The flames were contained to the oven but led to smoke damage to the apartment and exterior hallway. Firefighter say the apartment needed to be ventilated before people could be allowed to re-enter.
