KASSON, Minn. - People in Kasson are already fundraising for the Kasson Festival in the Park, next August.
On Sunday, people brought their best recipes out for chili competition at the city's American Legion post. It was all to raise money for the city's annual Festival in the Park, a staple event for the city.
"It's a great way to bring the town together. You need a community that gathers around to have fun," Jon Christensen, one of the fundraiser organizers, said.
He also said they hope to raise a little bit more money for this year's festival. That's because this will be the 30th annual Kasson Festival in the Park.
"This year, we're going to spend a little bit more," he said.
The next fundraiser for the festival will be in January.
