MASON CITY, Iowa- Mason City city leaders and elected officials presented the River City Renaissance project proposal to the Iowa Economic Development Authority to be approved for state funds.
Those with the city say the IEDA Board postponed the vote on the proposal saying they wanted a letter of intent from the bank to prove funding for the project.

Those we spoke with say they agree with the board’s decision.
“They need to have the financing secure,” says Gary Lafrenz of Mason City. “If it takes a little bit longer then ok, if it goes any longer than that then I think we have a problem.”
Those with the city say the board meets again in mid-January.
