ROCHESTER, Minn. - Helicopter rides are back again at the Olmsted County Fair.
The pilot and his groundscrew keep people out of their landing area unless they have an escort, and they talk riders through safety procedures before entering the helicopter.
"Safety is always paramount in anything aviation. It's always our first concern," explain pilot for Lake Superior Helicopter Elden Radcliffe. "We want to make sure we aren't causing any undo hazard to anybody either in the helicopter, or on the ground below the helicopter, or any other aircraft that are in the air."
The helicopter crews stays in contact with the Rochester International Airport and are on a helicopter frequency so that Mayo One and other aircraft know who they are and where they are.
