Guilty plea in Rochester car chase

Canton man to be sentenced in June.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man is pleading guilty to a car chase through Rochester.

Ryan Matthew Vangness, 32 of Canton, is charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, 5th degree drug possession, and DWI. Authorities say he was involved in a pursuit with Rochester police, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota State Patrol on March 15. The chase on Highway 52 ended when Vangness’ vehicle was disabled by a state trooper.

His sentencing has been scheduled for June 12.
