AUSTIN, Minn. – A man who was living in a garage is pleading not guilty to drug possession.

Bobby Paul Khaoone, 29 of Austin, was arrested on March 27. Austin police say he was located living in a garage in the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue NE and was picked up on an outstanding warrant. When law enforcement searched the garage, which they say appeared to be a makeshift apartment with a TV, bed, and chairs, they found three baggies holding a total of 41.74 grams of methamphetamine. Officers say two scales, smaller baggies, and tubing with what seemed to be meth residue was also located.

Police say Khaoone had been living in the garage for two to three months.

On Thursday, Khaoone pleaded not guilty to 2nd degree drug possession. His trial is scheduled to begin on September 10.
