CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – A former Mason City teen accused of sexual extortion is pleading not guilty.
Christian Albert Gossweiler, 18, entered that plea Tuesday in Black Hawk County District Court. Authorities say Gossweiler communicated with a Scott County woman through Snapchat while attending the University of Northern Iowa. The victim reportedly sent Gossweiler nude photos and videos after he asked for them, then authorities say he demanded more or he would post the images online.
The victim claims Gossweiler then offered to stop demanding more videos if she had sex with him.
Gossweiler was arrested by UNI police on August 22 after they say he showed up to have sex with the victim.
Trial is set to begin on November 27.
Gossweiler graduated from Mason City High School in 2018.
