ROCHESTER, Minn. – Law enforcement says a traffic stop turned up a significant amount of illegal drugs.

A Rochester officer stopped a vehicle around 10:20 pm Monday near the intersection of 4th Avenue and 14th Street SE for a registration violation. The officer says when he spoke with the driver there was an “overwhelming” smell of marijuana.

Police say a search of the vehicle discovered 272 grams of marijuana, 13 grams of marijuana butane hash oil, and 166 tab doses of LSD.

The driver, 22 year-old Samuel Coto of Rochester, is facing charges of 4th degree possession of controlled substances and 5th degree possession and sale.

Police say the marijuana was found in seven separate bags, while the hash oil was in two separate bags.
