Olmsted County, Minn. – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says the use of a drone helped save a man’s life over the weekend.
Authorities say an 84-year-old man left his residence around the 7100 block of Valleyhigh Rd NW in Kalmar Township to search some potential hunting locations.
He left around 3:45 p.m. and deputies were called around 6:40 p.m. after his 80-year-old wife reported he hadn’t come home.
Deputies found his vehicle stuck in the mud of a field drive and was located around 9:38 p.m. after being located by the Rochester Police Department drone.
He was found 200-300 yards from where they found his vehicle. The man was curled up in the fetal position, cold and unresponsive.
He was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.
