CHARLES CITY, Iowa – One person went to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision Friday.

The Charles City Police Department says it happened around 6:34 pm at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and G Street. 67-year-old Daniel Kennedy of Charles City was driving south and 17-year-old Gillian King from Charles City was driving east.

The crash caused over $5,000 in damage to both vehicles.

Police say Kennedy was cited for failure to yield to the vehicle on his right at an intersection. Authorities say one unidentified person was taken to the Floyd County Medical Center after the accident to be evaluated for their injuries.
