Charles City wants a certified site

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Those in Charles City would say they're a bit behind when it comes creating a location that manufacturers would want to build on.
Having a certified site near the Avenue of the Saints would be most ideal according to Tim Fox, Executive Director of the Charles City Area Development Corporation.
Right now Iowa has 19 certified sites, places where if a manufacturer wants to build, they know those locations are ready for them.
“More jobs, and hopefully with more jobs comes more housing,” Fox explained.
Fox says it’s a two year process to get an official site through the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
Mason City, Forest City and Osage all currently have one.
