CHARLES CITY, Iowa – After three trials, a Floyd County man has again been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a teenager.

Doug Lindaman, 62 of Charles City, was found guilty in April of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. He had been found guilty once before but that conviction was overturned by the Iowa Supreme Court and a second trial in Franklin County ended in a mistrial. A third trial was then held in Cerro Gordo County.

On Friday, Lindaman was sentenced to up to two years in prison. He must also register as a sex offender for life, pay a $625 fine, and pay a total of $2,665.20 in restitution to his victim and two other people.

Lindaman has already filed a motion requesting a new trial and indicated he will be appealing his conviction and sentence.
