Charles City man pleads guilty to causing thousands of dollars in apartment damage

CHARLES CITY, Iowa – One of the men accused of damaging some apartment doors is pleading guilty.

Brandyn Michael Steveson, 26 of Charles City, and John Paul Miller, 37 of New Hampton, were arrested on June 25. Charles City police say Miller, armed with a large knife, entered two apartments without permission and then Miller and Steveson hid in one of the apartments until officers arrived and ordered them to leave.

Steveson has pleaded guilty to 2nd degree burglary and been sentenced to three to five years of supervised probation. He’s also responsible for $3,263.50 in damage done to the apartment doors.

Miller is pleading not guilty to 1st degree burglary and is scheduled to stand trial on November 27.
