ROCHESTER, Minn. – A reduced service schedule will continue through Thursday for Rochester Public Transit due to extreme cold.
That schedule is as follows:
- Regularly scheduled peak direct service to all six Park & Ride locations via Routes 1D, 3D, 4D, 6D, 15D and 18D.
- Special midday direct trips to the six Park & Ride locations will leave the downtown transit center at 15 minutes past and 45 minutes past the hour, from 8:15 A.M. to 2:45 P.M Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
- No other routes or trips will be in operation during the reduced schedule.
RPT says people who use ZIPS paratransit service should also know that medical trips will take priority due to reduced capacity.
“RPT regrets having to curtail service,” says the company in a statement, “and wishes to thank the community for continued support as we strive to provide the best possible service under difficult circumstances.”
Those needed to escape the frigid temperatures may still hail a bus along any of the direct routes and RPT says the driver will do his or her best to safely stop to allow riders to board.
