BYRON, Minn. - One person was killed and three hurt in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened around 2:40 pm at the intersection of Highway 14 and Olmsted County Road 3, east of Byron. Stephanie Joy Fernholz, 62 of Byron, was driving south and Hillary Marie Deluna, 28 of West Concord was driving west.
The State Patrol says the collision killed Fernholz and left Deluna and two passengers, two-year-old Caleb Owen Deluna and three-year-old Carter David Deluna, with non-life threatening injuries. The Delunas were taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment.
Everyone involved in the accident was wearing their seat belt.
The Byron Fire Department, Mayo One, and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene. The crash temporarily closed Highway 14.
