ROCHESTER, Minn. – A woman is charged with murder after police say she provided the drugs that killed a confidential informant.
Michelle Alyce Williams, 52 of Rochester, is now facing one count of 3rd degree murder and three counts of 3rd degree sale of drugs.
Rochester police say they discovered the dead body of Matthew Klaus, 32, on March 30 inside a home in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue SE. Court documents state the cause of death was “acute heroin and fentanyl toxicity.”
Police say Klaus had been working an informant and had purchased drugs from Williams on three occasions in March. She was arrested for those crimes in early April. Court documents state that Williams admitted to selling heroin to Klaus for over two years and had given him some of the drug on March 29.
Police say in a statement after being arrested, Williams said she had provided heroin to Klaus “at least 100 times.”
The murder charge against Williams was filed Friday.
