CHARLES CITY, Iowa- Around 2 dozen Charles City residents addressed the Charles City City Council on Monday about storm water damage.
Peggy Sweet was among those who said this has been an issue she and her family have been faced with for a number of years. She said infrastructure is mostly to blame.
The city council said they know the issue exists and there are two locations in town where it floods more than others. Sweet said she wants to see something done, but understands where city leaders are coming from.
“I believe the City Council is listening to people, it's just an expensive problem,” she said. “They know it's there, they just have to set priorities for what can be done and what can't be done.”
