A day after Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of President Trump’s top public health advisors, said Iowa leaders were “doing a really good,” Gov. Kim Reynolds noted other steps the state is taking to fight the coronavirus.
State officials said there are 200 on-duty Iowa national guard members helping to deliver medical PPEs to county emergency management facilities.
The national guard has made deliveries of PPE to all 99 counties.
The national guard also said it has six regional medical coordination centers around the state, including one in Mason City, to help healthcare providers.
The national guard said Tuesday those centers “help decision-makers save lives.”
“We deeply appreciate the sacrifice you and your families make whenever duty is called,” Reynolds said.
Iowa announced 102 new positive coronavirus tests Tuesday, giving the state 1,048. Officials also announced one more death, this one coming in Benton County.
The state has 26 deaths related to the virus.
